Government orders wish de-listing

wish

In France and at the request of the government, Wish should be forgotten by search engines and mobile application stores.

For search engines online as well as application stores such as the App Store and Google Play Store, the government is ordering the delisting of the Wish e-commerce site and its mobile application. An action which will not alter its functioning for the moment, but the outright prohibition is not ruled out if necessary.

To protect consumers from dangerous products sold on Wish, we have requested the delisting of its website and of its mobile application.

Such measures are said to be exceptional and exemplary. According to the government, they stem from extended powers and an investigation by the General Directorate for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF).

Over more than 100 products sold on Wish and mostly imported, the investigation revealed “ the sale of a large number of non-compliant and dangerous products. “The Ministry of the Economy has posted a document (PDF) with some examples of dangerous products sold on Wish.

It is further criticized Wish for a lack of diligence in withdrawing products, some of which may reappear under another name.

wish

Mid July, Wish had been put on notice to comply “ by ceasing to mislead the consumer on the nature of the products uits, on the risks inherent in their use and on the checks carried out. wish “Obviously, a satisfactory answer was not obtained .

Wish contests and always ensures that it complies with the DGCCRF’s withdrawal requests. The de-listing measure is deemed illegal and disproportionate by Wish, which indicates that it has taken legal action.

Remember that this is not the first time that Wish has been in the government’s sights.

I hope Wish will sink well severely, they can help us attack, mess up to impose themselves as they have already done, the products they put forward are really of extreme bad qualities, sometimes contradictory and not representative of image or text (Examples of cases in the past: “Samsung smartphone – 1 €” the customer received poor quality headphones, while the title and image clearly indicated that he would receive a “Samsung” at 1 € (of course, you should not dream of this price

There are other items in the genre, Wish and the sellers are not due quite honest with their customers, their products must not end up on French territory.
Especially since they do not respect French laws at all, competitors, or even trade in Europe, real crap, gangrene …

Let them die, it won’t make me hot or cold.

(Don’t talk to me about salespeople and jobs … crooks there! )

Especially what causes me the most problem, it is not so much the counterfeiting, but the dangers of its counterfeits.

The repression of fraud has found that depending on the types of articles, 59 To 70% of the products sold were dangerous.

A stupid example, lint with buttons that come off easily and which may cause infant death …

The day my wife showed me this site, I told her not to buy anything on it because nothing looked serious, both in terms of products and interface.

All this does not surprise me truly not.

That would be so important that it would take a complete tree to make the paper necessary for print it.

Without going to iPhone at € 1, customers can see almost identical products at a price twice the price …

As a reminder, an iPhone whose 140 € of components is sold 2021 €. Find him at 11 € on Wish does not seem totally insane.

Except that unfortunately, we mostly risk ending up with a copy, but worse (because good, a copy with the same components, why no), defective electronic components, the problem of which we have regularly seen with their chargers for example, and which can set fire to a home (if not a building).

But people who are told that it is a legitimate site (which is basically the case), think of buying products that comply with the regulations, and unfortunately, take risks that they don’t measure …

But you should also be wary of the components of what is sold, including plastic.

Ex: Bisphenol A is not prohibited in China.
