The Sitrans LU01 is linked into the PLC via Profibus DP. Sitrans LU01 is an ultrasonic long-range level controller for liquids and solids up to a distance of 60 metres (200 ft). It includes Sonic Intelligence, a patented signal processing technology. Using unique algorithms, Sonic Intelligence differentiates between true echoes from the material and false echoes from obstructions or electrical noise, providing intelligent processing of echo profiles, and thereby reliable level measurement.
The LU01/XPS-30 level system confidently steers beam and bucket wheel, error free over the varying heights of the coal mounds. Together with the GPS system it aids in directing the stacker-reclaimer most efficiently.
The Siemens instrumentation contributes significantly to the reliable operation of the stacker-reclaimer at a low cost of ownership. The Milltronics MMI has proven its reliability and durability while providing accurate weighing. The Sitrans LU01/Exchomax XPS-30 ultrasonic level control system keeps the boom exactly where it needs to be when stacking.
