Tampere, Finland – Metso will supply mining and minerals processing equipment and services for the new gold ore processing plant of Nordic Mines’ Laiva Gold Project in Finland. The equipment delivery will be completed during the first half of 2011, and the start of commissioning of the concentrator will be in August 2011.
The value of the order from Nordic Mines for Metso mining and minerals processing equipment and services for the Laiva Gold Project is approximately EUR 30 million. The order comprises a full range of equipment and services necessary for the project, including a mill, pumps, flotation equipment, crushers and screens. The contract also includes steel structures, piping and a plant electrical, instrumentation and automation package as well as related supervision, start-up and commissioning services.
The equipment and services will be delivered to Nordic Mines Laiva Gold project, near the city of Raahe in Finland. The annual processing capacity of the plant will be two million tons of dry gold ore. Nordic Mines is focusing in its operations on exploring for gold. At the moment the company concentrates on developing the Laiva deposit, being one of the biggest gold deposits discovered so far in the Nordic region.
