Votorantim announced EUR 140 million investment in Turkey

The Sivas Plant currently accounts for about 19% of Votorantim Cimentos’ 3 million metric tons per year production capacity in Turkey.
Cement Plant Capacity Expansion Project
Votorantim Cimentos announced a EUR 140 million investment in the expansion of its cement plant in Sivas, Turkey. The investment is the largest carried out in Sivas’ history and it will increase the plant’s current production capacity by three times, from the current capacity of 0.6 to 1.8 million metric tons per year, with construction work beginning in June 2015. Cement production is expected begin in 2017.

Rare Earths Mining Project
The New South Wales Planning Assessment Commission (PAC), as delegate for the NSW Minister for Planning and Environment, has advised that it has approved the development application for Australian Zirconia's Dubbo Zirconia Project (DZP). The AUD 1 billion project, which is located approx. 25 km south of Dubbo (NSW), Australia, in an area called Toongi, is founded on one of the world’s largest in-ground resources of zirconium, hafnium, niobium, tantalum, yttrium and rare earths elements.

Outotec has won an order from Bafgh Mineral Complex Iron and Steel Industry Company (B-MISCO) for the design and delivery of technology and services for a new iron ore pelletizing plant in Bafgh, Yazd Province, Iran. The new 5 million tonnes per annum pellet plant is part of B-MISCO's greenfield investment program. The new plant is expected to become operational in 2018.

Bio energy and bulk materials handling specialist Saxlund International, part of the Opcon AB energy and environmental technology group, has collaborated with Hope Construction Materials to install and commission a new waste-derived fuel solution at the company’s Hope Works cement plant in Derbyshire, United Kingdom, using up to 80,000 tonnes of bulk solid waste from landfill each year.

The development of the underground mine at Oyu Tolgoi in Mongolia has taken a significant step forward on May 19, 2015, with the signing of the Oyu Tolgoi Underground Mine Development and Financing Plan by the Government of Mongolia, Turquoise Hill Resources and Rio Tinto. The plan addresses the key outstanding shareholder issues and sets out an agreed basis for the funding of the project.

DRA Taggart confirmed that it has entered an agreement with Avanti Kitsault Mine Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alloycorp Mining Inc., to conduct a comprehensive review of the Avanti Kitsault Mine Project in British Columbia. Alloycorp, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Avanti Kitsault Mine Ltd., is spending approx. USD 1 billion to develop the Avanti Kitsault Project into one of the top four primary Molybdenum mines in the world.

Southern Copper gets Approval for USD 1.2 billion Toquepala Expansion Project

Copper Concentrator Capacity Expansion
Southern Copper Corporation announced that its Peruvian Branch, Southern Peru Copper Corporation, has received the approval to commence the expansion of the Toquepala concentrator capacity from 60,000 to 120,000 metric tons per day, which would add to its production 100,000 tons of refined copper and 3100 metric tons of molybdenum per year, commencing in 2017.

EuroChem Group, Maire Tecnimont, SACE sign MoU for Construction of 5 Plants

In Russia, EuroChem and Maire Tecnimont will work together on three Projects: an ammonia-urea facility in Nevinnomyssk and an ammonia plant in Kingisepp, the latter including an additional Project to integrate urea production.
Ammonia-Urea Plant Projects
EuroChem Group AG, Maire Tecnimont and SACE jointly announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in relation to the construction of five ammonia-urea plants to be commissioned in Russia, the United States and Kazakhstan over the next 10 years. The Projects will provide EuroChem with an additional five million tonnes of ammonia and 7.5 million tonnes of urea capacity per annum.

Alstom to build the first ultra-supercritical lignite-fired Power Plant in Asia

Power Plant Project
Alstom, in consortium with Marubeni Corporation, has signed an agreement with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to supply and build the new unit at Mae Moh power plant. The total amount of the contract is EUR 950 million in total, with Alstom’s share of the contract worth approx. EUR 520 million.
