Monsanto to build new Cotton Seed Processing Facility in Texas

Monsanto Company announced plans today to begin construction of a new, state-of-the-art cotton seed processing facility in Lubbock (TX), USA.
Seed Processing Project
On January 13, 2016, Monsanto Company announced plans to begin construction of a new, state-of-the-art cotton seed processing facility in Lubbock (TX), USA. In cooperation with the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA), construction of the new facility is expected to begin in March 2016 and be completed in the second half of calendar year 2017.

FLSmidth wins five-year Maintenance Contract in Chile

The order covers supply of maintenance services of three production lines of the concentrator plant as well as of the tailings and pipeline areas.
Copper Ore Processing
FLSmidth has signed a five-year maintenance contract with the Chilean copper producer Minera Doña Ines de Collahuasi for the supply of maintenance services for their copper plant in Chile. The plant is located in the Andes mountains, 3500 to 4000 meters above sea level, close to the Chilean-Bolivian border. The plant has a capacity of more than 140.000 tonnes of processed rock per day.

PotashCorp withdraws Proposal to negotiate Transaction with K+S

Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) announced that it has withdrawn its proposal to negotiate a transaction with K+S Aktiengesellschaft (K+S). According to PotashCorp, the private proposal of EUR 41 per share on May 31, 2015 sought to bring together complementary assets that would have enhanced financial resources and allowed the combined company and its stakeholders to benefit from greater diversification across geographies and products.

Outotec awarded a Contract for Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant in Iran

Outotec's scope of delivery includes a complete beneficiation plant and an entire value chain from raw material testing, process development to concentration and dewatering.
Iron Ore Benefiction Plant
Outotec has been awarded a contract by Iran International Engineering Company (IRITEC) for the delivery of process technology to Khorasan Steel Complex Co's new iron ore beneficiation plant in Iran. Outotec's contract value is EUR 45 million, of which approximately EUR 10 million will be booked in the third quarter 2015 order intake.

New GBP 100 million Port of Liverpool Biomass Facility

The terminal is being built as part of Peel Ports’ ambitious growth plans for the Port of Liverpool, with the company already investing GBP 300 million (approx. EUR 472 million) to create the UK’s most centrally located deep water container terminal.
Biomass Logistics
A new GBP 100 million (approx. EUR 157 million) biomass terminal planned for the Port of Liverpool will see it handle up to three million tonnes of wood pellets a year as part of the decarbonisation of Drax power station. The wood pellets – to be shipped to Liverpool from North America – are a by-product of the commercial forestry and saw-milling industry and will provide the Selby-based power station with a new, sustainable low carbon fuel source.

On May 14, 2015, Cemex announced that it is undertaking a new USD 300 million investment in the Philippines. The new investment will include the construction of a new 1.5-million-tonne, integrated cement-production line at Cemex's Solid Plant in Luzon. This will double the capacity of the Solid plant and will represent a 25% increase in the company’s cement capacity in the Philippines.

Northern Vertex Mining Corp. announced the results of a recently completed Feasibility Study on the Moss Gold-Silver Project located in Mohave County, Arizona. The Feasibility Study envisions an open-pit mining operation with crushing, agglomeration and stacking of ore onto a conventional heap leach pad. The Project has been designed to have a 5 year mine life at a projected mining rate of 5,000 tonnes per day.
