Microwave Switch with 50 times higher Sensitivity

Hawk Measurement Systems has introduced a new and highly sensitive Microwave switch for blocked chute protection. According to the manufacturer it has 50 times more sensitivity than the older existing unit.

Hawk’s latest software has advanced filters and received signal identification which allows the unit to detect a signal even with build-up and in an acoustic and electrically noisy environment.

The manufacturer says that the new system is built with the latest advances in Microwave technical knowledge and uses advanced digital micro controller technology to achieve high sensitivity and reliable output under adverse conditions.

Digital processing allows simple setup, the ability to detect build up and automatically compensate, the ability to raise a maintenance alarm well before failure if an unusual build up occurs, and digital diagnosis over Modbus or GPRS modem for factory help.

In addition, Hawk’s latest software has advanced filters and received signal identification which allows the unit to detect a signal even with build-up and in an acoustic and electrically noisy environment.

New Generation mounting is easier to use and install. Mounting traditional Microwave (linear polarization) close to a parallel wall can cause signal cancelation which can affect performance outcomes. This signal cancelation is a normal problem for linear polarization microwave designs where the reflection energy can and will cancel the main signal giving inconsistent and sometimes poor performance outcomes.

Hawk is aware of this design defect and has developed a unique solution using exclusively circular polarization of the beam which will overcome this possible signal elimination and the circular polarized antenna does not suffer this cancelation issue.
