Siemens supplies the World's biggest gearless Conveyor Drive System

At the the Cuajone Mine in Peru a belt conveyor will replace a railway system currently used to transport the ore out of the mine to the processing plant.

Siemens supplies the world's biggest gearless conveyor drive system to the Cuajone Mine in Peru which is operated by the Mexican mining company Southern Copper Corporation (SCC). The gearless drive technology enables the use of a conveyor belt system with a total installed power of 12,000 KW. Siemens was chosen by ThyssenKrupp to supply the electrical package in mid-2014.

Port of Immingham receives first UK Multi Fuel Unloader Delivery

Continuous Ship Unloading
Following an order placed in March 2013, Siwertell, part of Cargotec, has delivered, installed and commissioned two continuous ship unloaders at ABP's port of Immingham, UK. They will be used to discharge wood pellets and coal to supply the Drax power station. Both types of fuel will be unloaded at a rate of 1200 t/h. This is the first Siwertell unloader delivery to the UK for combined coal/biomass handling.

Pacific Coast Terminals and K+S Potash Canada broke Ground for new Facility

On June 2, 2015, Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (PCT) and K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) officially broke ground and began modifications on PCT’s existing bulk handling facility, preparing the facility for its role in KSPC’s Legacy Project. The project will include the construction of a railcar unloading building and potash storage warehouse, and upgrades to the water treatment facilities and ship-loading equipment.

Port of Long Beach Board approves Mitsubishi Terminal Project

The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners approved the Mitsubishi Cement Facility Modification Project on May 15, 2015, greenlighting the addition of 40,000 tonnes of additional storage capacity consisting of storage and loading silos on vacant Port property adjacent to Mitsubishi’s existing facility at the Port’s Pier F. The board’s approval was contingent on environmental measures and upgrades.

Takraf to refurbish giant Belt Conveyor Bridges for Lignite Mining

F60 is the series designation of five overburden conveyor bridges used in lignite mining in Germany, said to be the largest movable technical industrial machines in the world.

After around 40 years of operation, two F 60 conveyor bridges in Lusatia, Germany, will be refurbished within the next two years. On the basis of comprehensive structural analyses made by Takraf, the large equalizer, roller table, ball and socket joint of 1250 mm diameter and vertical rail of the 60 m overburden conveyor bridge in Nochten opencast mine will be replaced, and Takraf has been awarded the respective engineering contract.
