Splitter for continuous distribution of bulk solid material during pneumatic conveyance - dimensioning, calculation, operating behaviour. Worldwide, a great number of so-called splitters are in operation as elements of pneumatic conveying lines, in order to continuously distribute the conveyed bulk material to several receiving stations. These splitters have taken an important position within the pneumatic conveying systems and are applied in different designs. But there is not much literature available dealing with the phenomenon “splitter”, and providing assistance regarding application possibilities, dimensioning, selection and experiences during operation. The available literature mostly deals with answers to specific questions, like for example pressure losses in various ramifications, etc.

Sixth Siwertell Continuous Ship Unloader for Mai-Liao Power Plant

Siwertell will deliver a ST 940 DOB-type continuous ship unloader with a rated coal unloading capacity of 2000 t/h for the Mai-Liao power plant in Taiwan.

Siwertell, part of Cargotec, has secured a contract to supply a sixth continuous ship unloader for the Mai-Liao power plant in Taiwan. Five large Siwertell unloaders are currently in operation supplying coal to the 4200 MW facility, the third largest in the country. Three of the unloaders were delivered in 2001 and two in 2006. This latest order was booked in Cargotec's 2015 third quarter order intake.

Takraf to refurbish giant Belt Conveyor Bridges for Lignite Mining

F60 is the series designation of five overburden conveyor bridges used in lignite mining in Germany, said to be the largest movable technical industrial machines in the world.

After around 40 years of operation, two F 60 conveyor bridges in Lusatia, Germany, will be refurbished within the next two years. On the basis of comprehensive structural analyses made by Takraf, the large equalizer, roller table, ball and socket joint of 1250 mm diameter and vertical rail of the 60 m overburden conveyor bridge in Nochten opencast mine will be replaced, and Takraf has been awarded the respective engineering contract.
