More efficient Fertilizer Production

Producers all over the world are expanding production capacities and modernising existing processing facilities.
Dewatering Filter Belts
Phosphorus is one of the most important macronutrients in fertilizers. To cater for the worlds growing demand for fertilizers, producers all over the world expand their production capacity and modernise their existing processing facilities to enhance the effectiveness of their processes, e.g. the dehumidification of the production waste.

FLSmidth and Goldcorp to eliminate conventional Slurry Tailings Dams

FLSmidth believe that the target for the industry is to completely eliminate tailings dams, and to recirculate maximum water back to the process.
Tailings Management
Together with the world’s third largest gold miner, Goldcorp, FLSmidth is co-developing EcoTails, a system for co-mingling dewatered tailings with waste rock in a continuous process. The system is expected dramatically improve tailings and waste rock disposal while economically processing mine waste and increasing water recovery and reuse by as much as 90 to 95%.

Ensuring Gypsum Quality

Elements of the ACO DMMS moisture measurement system installed at gypsum production process at E.On's MPP3 Power Plant.
Moisture Measurement
E.ON operate a modern coal- and bio-mass-fired power plant in the Maasvlakte port area in Rotterdam. The necessary desulphurisation is steadily controlled to produce a salable gypsum product. Its product quality is monitored via moisture measurement. Moisture measurement is also advisable to avoid caking in the whole process and to guarantee the best flow characteristics in all following transport systems.

“Clean” Recycling with Atomized Dust Suppression

RAI has successfully employed an atomized mist system to suppress dust in and around its Chula Vista plant.
Dust Control
Reducing the need to landfill huge amounts of reusable debris from road repair includes the processing of these materials during which a great amount of dust is produced. A California company solved its dust problems with an special water mist generator. At first, the company tried to reduce the amount of dust with a sprinkler system. But that just saturated the material and creating a lot of mud, whereas the dust still remained an issue.

Bulk Flow Analyst new Features include improved Custom Cluster Definition

Starting in Bulk Flow Analyst version 15.0, users can define multiple cluster shapes in a material condition, much in the same way Custom size-distribution is used.
DEM Simulation Software
The latest Version of "Bulk Flow Analyst", the DEM Simulation Software by Applied DEM, Inc., features some major improvements to both the custom clusters and the particle blocks. Each has been upgrades to allow more customizable information as well as make it easier for the user to add these features to their simulation. The Motion Manager was also re-introduced in version 15 with a more advanced control system.

Return Idler Cages – Cost-Effective Solutions for a safer Work

Belt Conveyor Safety
One of the most easily preventable conveyor accident sources is a dislodged return idler falling onto an unsuspecting worker. Misaligned belts often come into contact with return idler brackets, shearing them off and allowing the idler to break free. Return idler cages are a cost-effective solution to protect workers against such risk.
