Yara & BASF broke ground on USD 600 million Plant in Freeport (TX), USA

Officials from BASF and Yara were joined by other guests to officially break ground on a $600 million world scale ammonia plant at the BASF site in Freeport, Texas. Ammonia Plant Project
On July 27, 2015, Yara International ASA and BASF broke ground on a world scale ammonia plant at the BASF site in Freeport (TX), USA. Total capital investment for the plant – which is expected to come online in 2017 – is estimated at USD 600 million. As part of the project, Yara will build an ammonia tank at the BASF terminal and BASF will upgrade its current terminal and pipeline assets for the export of ammonia from the new plant.

NRW wins Nammuldi Mining and Ore Haulage Contract from Rio Tinto

The Nammuldi mine is one of twelve iron ore mines Rio Tinto Iron Ore operates in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

NRW Holding Limited has been awarded a contract from Rio Tinto for contract mining and ore haulage, which will increase the production at Rio Tinto's Nammuldi mine, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 60 km north-west of Tom Price. The contract includes supply, installation and operation of two 5 million tpa crushing plants and has a value of approx. AUD 140 million.

Amec Foster Wheeler wins Heat and Power Plant Contract in Poland

Amec Foster Wheeler has won a second CFB combined heat and power plant contract in Poland

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Fortum Zabrze S.A. for the design, supply, construction and commissioning for a new multi-fuel circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generating combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Zabrze, in Southern Poland. The plant will be 220 MW with a maximum production capacity of 145 MW for heating and 75 MW for electricity generation.

MacMines Austasia submitted Draft EIS for AUD 6.7 billion Coal Mine

Project China Stone involves the construction and operation of a large-scale coal mine on a greenfield site in Central Queensland, Australia.

The draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been prepared by Hansen Bailey on behalf of MacMines Austasia Pty Ltd. for Project China Stone. MacMines Austasia, part of the Meijin Energy Group, plans to build a large-scale greenfield coal mine the Galilee Basin, Queensland, Australia. The mine will produce up to 55 million tpa of Run of Mine coal, which equates to approx. 38 million tpa of thermal coal. The mine life will be in the order of 50 years.

MHI and Mitsubishi Corp. to build large-scale Fertilizer Plant in Uzbekistan

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) will build a large scale ammonia and urea fertilizer production plant for Navoiyazat JSC, a chemical production company of Uzkimyosanoat JSC, that manages chemical enterprises in Uzbekistan. An EPCC contract with Navoiyazat JSC will soon take effects.

ThyssenKrupp to supply EUR 30 million IPCC System to Russia

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions is to supply an entire in-pit crushing and conveying system for an apatite-nepheline ore mine located in northern Russia.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions has received a contract from Apatit, a subsidiary of the leading Russian fertilizer producer PhosAgro, to supply a complete in-pit crushing and conveying (IPCC) system for an apatite-nepheline ore mine. The mine is located near the city of Kirovsk on the Kola Peninsula in northern Russia. The order is worth around EUR 30 million.
